When last night, Daniel had returned to the tent that he and Lara had set up earlier that day, he'd done so alone. When he'd woken up this morning, stirred awake by a burst of boisterous laughter soon followed by AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" blasting from a stereo nearby, he'd done so alone. The tent and Lara's sleeping bag had been as empty as when he'd fallen asleep, and judging by the untouched state of the bag and Lara's other things, she hadn't been there while he slept either. Not that he had really expected anything else. He had figured that Dominic had finally gotten a hold of Lara again, and that the two of them had resumed their attempt to work things out. Successfully too, it would seem, or else Lara would have probably returned to the tent to sleep. Daniel knew her well enough to know she hadn't just ditched him and gone home without telling him. She'd never do that to him. Even if she had been capable of it, technically (which he was sure she wasn't), his parents had trusted her with their youngest sons's well-being, and she would never ignore or forget that trust.
He'd been tempted to just text her, or call her, or to text or call Dominic, just to find out what exactly was going on, but had ended up deciding against it. At least for now. If they had been working things out, odds were that they had stayed up far later than Daniel, and that consequently, they were still sleeping. In which case Daniel calling wasn't likely to be well received by his older brother.
He'd decided to start his day on his own instead.
First on the list, had been locating the shower facilities. The heat and dust being kicked around by thousands and thousands of people made for a rather devastating combination where one's hygiene was concerned, and Daniel longed for a shower to wash off their effect.
As it would turn out, finding the facilities was the quick and easy part. Actually getting access to them proved a far more time-consuming one, since obviously, Daniel wasn't the only one to have gotten the idea of a morning shower. He had to wait in line for almost half an hour before it was his turn, and then was far too aware of the other people waiting outside for him to finish, to enjoy it any longer than was absolutely necessary. He usually liked long showers, but this one was over and done with in just a few minutes.
Still, he did return to the tent feeling clean and refreshed, though at the same time knowing that with a day of trotting around the festival area with the thousands of other visitors, under the scorching sun, he'd probably be back to feeling just as dusty, sweaty and dirty before long. But, it would be so worth it. He was finally at his first music festival, something he'd been longing for for years, and everything that was part of the traditional festival experience, was an experience he wanted to make. So far, he'd gotten to sample the heat, the crowd, the general vibe, the dirt, the VIP lounge, the food, and the showers. Thus, with a couple of hours left to go before the bands would start playing, he figured that the next thing on the list of things to check out, was the market place. He only made a quick stop back at the tent first, to drop off his towel, before rejoining the steady flow of people following along the various paths of the area, this time headed towards the many rows of stalls, where hundreds of merchants were already busy peddling their goods.
(((ooc: He's approachable, either by a market stall, or in line for one of the food stalls.)))
